Sculptural clothing exhibition - Croatia

While enjoying the sights of Sibenik, Croatia today I stumbled upon a small design space with a clothing/wearable art/sculptural clothing exhibition "bauhaus Plese" by Zagreb based artist Tihana Miksa Perkovic.

I couldn't get much information (the exhibition brochure was in Croatian) about it but it looked fabulous, so I grabbed a few photos. There were pieces made from plastic bags, burnt lace fabric and fabulous knits amongst other things. Enjoy!

  2. Thank's for cheering me up.
I'm the author of the exhibition.
Sorry we didn't make the brochure in english.

This exhibition is inspired by the famous design school Bauhaus (1919-1933 in Germany). Especially by Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic ballet.
They explored (in Bauhaus) primary shapes (sphere, cube, cone..) and main colours.
My Bauhaus is dancing because shapes are softer and they follow body movements. By the way all the models are wearable.
I enjoy exploring the new ways to treat fabrics: like making lace with soldering iron, or weaving plastic bags in 3D shapes in basketry technique.

Thank’s again for nice words and published photos.
    Sincerely yours,
    Tihana Mikša Perković
