I spent ages picking sequins off to ensure I had flat easy to sew seams. The pattern itself was very straight forward and I'm happy with the final result. Yet to wear it though.....

First major project
Never one to start simple....I'd fallen in love with a stretch sequinned fabric from Tessuti's which has sequins with 2 way colour (black on one side and cream of the other) given the fabric a unique and fun look. I was determined to make a jacket i could wear with jeans and finally I'd settled on Butterick B5498 with version with the longer sleeves.

Thank you for posting this. I have been looking for a cardi pattern and this one is just perfect - just what I was looking for. Must admit I didn't check Butterick - must do so more often. The sequins material is gorgeous - great to see what can be done with it - great job and will look stunning, day or night.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fabulous! I've always had my eye on this fabric.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogging! :)
You have a great eye for fabric! And I LOVE the drape dress. I was wondering if you could tell me where you got your dress form. It's beautiful and I haven't found anything like it in my searches.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Johanna
Thanks for everyone's encouraging comments - it's terrific to get the feedback from you.
ReplyDeleteJohanna, I bought the dress form from bay after much web searching. It was exactly what I was looking for so I'm pleased you like it too. I'll post on the whole dress form search since you've asked.
